Heather Sorensen is the Founder and President of Plugged In PR®. Heather has represented emerging startups to global industry leaders across numerous technology categories, launching dozens of products and services. Able to consistently deliver strong media results across national business, online and trade publications, Heather excels at corporate positioning, competitive analysis, social media strategy and designing high-impact PR campaigns.
In building her own consulting practice, she secured national attention for the Nintendo Power 20th Anniversary celebration, hundreds of business and technology articles for JAJAH and key consumer and gaming coverage for CapcomÂ’s Neopets Puzzle Adventure and the PC game CellFactor: Revolution which utilizes the Ageia PhysX processor. Through an agency partnership, she secured top ad trade and business coverage for NeoEdge and its in game casual ad model, chaired by Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari, Chuck E. Cheese and uWink.
Through the end of 2005, Heather represented software and hardware products at Sony Computer Entertainment America and served as broadcast spokesperson for the global announcement of PlayStation 3. In her four years at Sony, she launched more than two-dozen games including the SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs franchise, The Getaway: Black Monday, EyeToy: AntiGrav, Rise to Honor and the entertainment device, PlayStation Portable (PSP). She rejoined the team as a consultant to manage the online holiday gift guide program, securing more than 200 unique gift-focused articles each season.
Prior to Sony, Heather was an associate Eastwick Communications, working with Business Objects, Caspian Networks and Sun Microsystems in the height of the technology boom.
Heather is a cum laude graduate of Humboldt State University, where she received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations.
